Sandblasting does a full stripping. The sandblasted material recovers in general its original color and appearance. Sandblasting is done by compressed air projections of sand, more or less fine and longer or shorter time, depending on the desired final appearance and, of course, depending on the initial state of the support. The support material is completely stripped (wood, metal, stone or concrete, etc.) and looking like new, including in the grooves, trim, cutouts. .. which is hardly possible with reglar sanding for instance. Sandblasting is a very popular method of renovation, not only for aesthetic reasons but also for its very competitive price compared to other techniques that take more time and are more costly.
